About Jharkhand Calendar

Johar! This calendar is for everyone who has danced in an akhra on Karma night, stood at Bada Talab for Chhath or waited for Sarhul's sal flowers — whether you live in Ranchi or in Bengaluru.

Kya karte hain

We publish a fast, clean calendar with the dates Jharkhand actually lives by: state holidays from the gazette, Adivasi festivals that national calendars miss — Sohrai, Tusu, Mage, Baha, Sarhul, Manda, Karma, Bandna — and the Hindu panchang for Ranchi.

Dates kaise nikalte hain

Sun and Moon positions come from the Swiss Ephemeris with Lahiri ayanamsa. Tithi, nakshatra and yoga are taken at sunrise in Ranchi (23.34°N, 85.31°E). Each festival has a coded rule, which we check against published panchangs and the Jharkhand Gazette holiday notification. See our editorial policy.

Swatantra website

We have no connection with the Government of Jharkhand. For holidays the gazette notification is final. Found a mistake? Tell us through the contact page.
