The daylight between sunrise and sunset is split into eight equal parts. Each weekday gives one part to Rahu: the second part on Monday, the seventh on Tuesday, the fifth on Wednesday, the sixth on Thursday, the fourth on Friday, the third on Saturday and the eighth on Sunday. Because Ranchi's day is about 10¾ hours in December and 13¼ in June, the length of Rahu Kaal itself changes through the year.
