Plateau ki Chhath
Chhath came to Jharkhand's towns with families from Bihar and has become a festival of the whole state. On the plateau the November mornings are cold — Ranchi can drop near 10°C at dawn — so vratis standing in the water for Usha Arghya are wrapped in shawls the moment they step out. Town committees clean ponds weeks in advance, and Jharkhand's district administrations publish sunrise and sunset times for the ghats.
Thekua, kasar and seasonal fruit fill the soop, and many Jharkhand homes add local produce such as sweet potato (shakarkand) and sugarcane from nearby villages.
