Karma 2027: Saturday, 11 September 2027 (Bhadrapada Shukla Ekadashi), followed by Phoolkharkosi. Sisters fast for their brothers and the crop, and the village dances around the karam branch all night.

Karma ki taiyari
Jawa uthana
Seven or nine days before, girls sow grains in sand-filled baskets and sing to them each evening. Pale yellow sprouts by Karma day mean a blessed year.
Karam daal
Branches of the karam tree are cut in the forest after a prayer, carried without touching the ground and planted in the akhra.
Katha aur naach
The pahan tells the Karma–Dharma story; then jhumar and karma songs with mandar continue till sunrise.
Teen tarah ki Karma
Raja Karam on Bhado Ekadashi is the main one. Some villages also keep Jitia Karam near Jitiya and Dasain Karam near Dussehra. In Kurmi and Mahato homes of the Panchpargana area, Karam is especially a festival of sisters praying for brothers.
