Kaun the Sidho-Kanhu?

Brothers Sidho and Kanhu Murmu, with their brothers Chand and Bhairav and sisters Phulo and Jhano, led the movement. The rebellion spread across the Rajmahal hills and was crushed in 1856 with great loss of life, but it led to the creation of the Santhal Pargana district and, decades later, to tenancy laws protecting Adivasi land.

Aaj kaise manate hain

A state function is held at Bhognadih, wreaths are laid at Sidho-Kanhu statues in Ranchi, Dumka and Sahibganj, and schools hold programmes on the freedom struggle.
